Sunglasses are more than an accessory; they provide vital eye protection for yourself and your kids. 

Sunglasses are probably by #1 favorite accessory – and yes, I know you wouldn’t have expected anything different from me 😃. 

But there’s more to it. A great pair of sunglasses are actually the perfect accessory because they not only make a statement, but also are extremely vital to the health of our eyes. 

As many of you know, I often take classes related to eye care in order to stay on top of changing trends and technologies. Recently, more and more studies are pointing to the harmful effects that direct sunlight can have on our eyes.

I also learned some other scary facts. 

• 3.2 million people go blind due to prolonged UV exposure every year
• Kids receive 3x the annual sun exposure of adults
• Approx. 90{af297a9c91aef5af688c31cde77925a6cf2537cf4e7385e5d18b0862bc7ba918} of premature aging around the eyes is caused by UV damage
